GHS stands for Global Harmonized System (GHS) and is a worldwide initiative for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labeling of chemicals, it serves the protection of human health and the environment.
The goals of GHS
Creating a common unified system of classification and labeling of chemicals in order to protect people and the environment from the harmful effects of hazardous substances and mixtures.
Inform users about hazardous materials by standard icons and texts on packages, labels and safety data sheets.
What does this mean for you?
You will find changes of the classifications on the safty data sheets and labels of our products.
With the implementation of the CLP regulation, there will be new clasification elements on packaging, labels and safety data sheets e.g. Hazard pictograms and safety instructions.
The changes will be introduced gradually and not immediately implemented on all packaging, labels and safety data sheets simultaneously.
All products will be delivered with the new GHS markings as of 01.06.2015.
